Can we use the builtin camera in the laptop as a QR Scanner in SambaPOS? Do we need to install additional software?

There is no software support in SambaPOS for this. 

I found this -> http://www.funcode-tech.com/Fun2D_QRCode_Reader_for_Windows_en.html

Seems to suit your needs but it is a paid app. Maybe a little more searching will find a free version.
