Hi, BonVivant

I had tried a few times but never got to use the 2X Client, the more it Teamvier I can not touch the screen, the teamvier was very bad and I had seen a video like this on youtube sambapos using the touch screen, but my doubts are:

1 - First install the 2X Client App on the tablet, what should I install on the server?

2 - Should I create a user account for the extra 2x Client connect, this account should always open with the server

I'm just connecting the tantando SambaPOS V3 on a tablet, already searched the forum most do not understand the steps so the question whether they had any tutorial for creating or V3 follows the same type of V2

If you can help I am very grateful

you are form Brasil!, im from Argentina, im Juan, ok, first, you are using CE or CO? if you are in CO theorically you cant use multiusers, but, im using it and i multiusers sesion, you need a pach, it can get it on the web, then create a user and install the client mesenger, run in rdp and its work very good, im using remote rdp and its great

Hi BonVivant

I'm using SQ example the bank migrated to the server, I'm in Brazil.

I created a user account for connecting the tablet will be basically only a connection to a tablet

Search the forums. V2 ad V3 are the same to setup for RDP, except with V3 there is no terminal app as V3 has portrait support built in.

http://forum2.sambapos.org

If you are running Win7 you need to force Terminal Services to run by patching Win7. If you are running many terminals I suggest Server 2003/2008.

The other option if you are planning on using iPads is to use Windows based tablets instead, like the Asus SmartTab (ME400) and you can install and run SambaPOS natively. It is the same cost as an iPad mini - not as small but the same size as an iPad.

JohnSCS Hi thanks for the tips, I will retry the connection

Help! almost managed to connect the tablet tried on two different machines further gave the following error and created a user account

I am now in doubt install sambapos within this user account or make a shortcut? I put the shortcut to connect like this: data source=User-PC \ SQLEXPRESS; User Id = SA; Password = sambapos.1234 no longer connects

I know the password is correct.

The 2X client is working, just can not connect accounts having two windows

Also have disabled all firewall

You can review this document to find out if any step missed. http://sambapos.org/en/content/installing-sql-express-2012-sambapos-v3

Thanks John for documentation.

Note: I don't know if it is a copy paste issue but the instance name should not contain spaces like User-PC \ SQLEXPRESS.

1. On the computer that runs SQL Express, is everything working OK? What is the connection string this computer is using?

2. When you RDP into the computer, does it take control of the computer? that is does it say another user is logged in?

Thank Emreeren I did not know this tutorial, I'm using SQL Server 2008 with Sambapos 20, I'll try to upgrade to 2012, the instance name has spaces because I use google translator and when I copy and paste it modifies

JohnSCS on the computer that is using SQL is working well, the sequence is: data source=User-PC\SQLEXPRESS

My question is here, is only one computer with two user accounts

the second account is used for the Tablet I created a shortcut to sambapos this second account when I ran it created the default database, I went to the settings and put the sequence of connection, but went wrong when I went into another account the sequence changed too, do not know if one of these 3 options influences:

1 - Name of the messenger server
2 - message from the server port
3 - Show the user's path

that this will be something missing in the way Show user?

PS: The 2X client is working perfectly after I followed the steps here for you

"because I use google translator"

That explains why I can't understand some of your posts :) English is not my native language too. I use google translate a lot but for daily speaking language it really sucks. While using it I reccommend you to use shorter sentences and use very common phrases.

SQL Express 2008 is OK to use and it's not your problem. I still use 2008. I wrote the tutorial since we didn't have an up to date one for 2012, or a complete one in English for 2008.

How is the main computer setup? You haven't stated very much on the actual setup.
Are you running Win7, and have you patched it for Terminal Services?

Have you moved the SambaSettings.txt file from the App Directory to the User Directory - If you don't then you end up with shared SambaPOS settings, and that will explain why you changed one, then the other account had the same settings.

To move the SambaSettings.txt from App Dir to User Dir
1. Run SambaPOS, go to Manage->Settings->Local Settings
2. Click Display App Path
3. Copy SambaSettings.txt
4. Click Display User Path
5. Paste SambaSettings.txt

Repeat logging into each User Account on your computer. Once all User Accounts have been done, log back into each User Account, go to Local Settings and configure Terminal Name. You data connection should be
data source=User-PC\SQLEXPRESS; User Id=sa; Password=sambapos.1234

Don't worry about Message Server yet.

Also there is no need to install SambaPOS for each user. It is available to all users when it is installed the first time. It is only the SambaSettings.txt that needs to be moved so each User Account runs its own SambaPOS setup.

I hope this helps a bit.

Yes, native English speakers understands it so it seems my English sucks :)

Trust me, even I go "What?" sometimes.

That's why I tend to ask a few questions to find patterns to identify the problems.

I even tried to learn Turkish. I gave up because I have too much respect for you to butcher your native language. And the translators are very poor.

Thanks all for the responses was picking SQL Server

Of all the ways he tried with SQL Server 2008 on Windows 7 could not connect.

But after I went to SQL Server 2012 worked

Note that I tried on 2 different computers with windows 7

I came to the conclusion that windows 7 only SQL Server 2012

JohnSCS your tutorial helped a lot

I will use your advice Emreeren short sentences, google translator and really hard to explain

I still believe that SQL Express 2008 was not installed correctly. Which is why I wrote instructions for 2012.

I have used the same process of installing SQL 2008 for 2 years and never had issues.

I am glad it is all working.

Hi JohnSCS I did correctly following all the steps I think it must be due to the same as in windows 7 windows xp SQL server 8 gives no problems and also tested with two different machines and windows 7, I will switch to using the windows 7 only SQL server2012 so I will not spend more difficulty I also found it very quiet install 2012, thank the instructions here helped a lot
