What is 4Pos? This is SambaPOS website :)
the name on the machine is 4pos - the software is Samba POS. I need to clear the products and catagories of the machine and replace it with my products. Just not sure how to.
All depends on the setup.
Can you log into SambaPOS?
Is it running Compact SQL or SQL Express?
If you can find the SambaSettings.txt file that will help to understand how it is setup.
Thanks, its running a Compact SQL - I'm wondering if it would be easier to completely uninstall the existing Samba POS 2 and upload the newer version, would that make it easier for me to install my products etc?
I'm finding it impossible to download a user manual for Samba or to get any online tutorials that are in English - they all seem to be either in Dutch or Portugese. Can someone direct me to a site that may help.
If your rename the SambaData2.sdf to Old_SambaData2.sdf, and install SambaPOS 2.99c it will create a new Compact SQL database. Or if you are keen, install V3. But remeber that V3 is still in beta and is not fully production ready.
The forum has the most info on V2, whereas this website has the best collection of V3 documents.
As for manual, well one has never been fully completed as SambaPOS has evolved so quickly that it has been hard to have time to write a manual. The other reason is that SambaPOS is so flexible that two different people can end up with two very different setups - its more about learning and creating, then just installing and using.
